Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

In a pre-test, the test item SP-173 was still liquid after storage for 1 day at –25.4 °C and solidification occurred only at -80 °C. The determination of the melting- / freezing point does not need to be conducted below a lower limit of -20 °C. Therefore, the freezing point is stated as above.

No observations were made which might cause doubts on the validity of the study outcome. Therefore, the result of the study is considered valid.

The following deviation from the study plan was documented: In the pre-test the test item was stored at 7.4 °C instead of 5 °C and

–25.4 °C instead of -20 °C. This is uncritical as the result of the pre-test is clear, because the test item was liquid even at –25.4 °C.

Description of key information

< -20 °C (OECD 102, EU A.1)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The melting point of the substance trihexyl phosphate (CAS No. 2528-39-4) is in the range that allows estimation that it is very low (below -20 °C).
