Repeated whole-body exposure to low (down to 0.01 mg Cr/m3) or high doses (up to 1.2 mg Cr/M3) of barium chromate dust over 6h/day, 5-6 d/week:

- for up to 8 months, in mice, did not induce effects on weight and survival

- for up to 16 months, in rats, reduced weight gain and increased spleen and lung weights at both doses
