Details on sampling:
- Concentrations:
range finding test - 1, 10, 100 mg/L,
main test - 1, 1.8, 3.2, 5.6, 10mg/L
- Sampling method: Samples of the test solutions at the beginning and at the end of the renewal period, i.e. when it is freshly prepared and immediately prior to renewal or at the end of exposure are referred to as one set. The two sets of test solutions, one at the beginning of exposure (0 hour) and before renewal at 24 hours and the other after renewal at 72 hours and at the end of exposure (96 hours), were analyzed.
- Sample storage conditions before analysis: stored in a refrigerator.
Vehicle:
no
Details on test solutions:
To maintain the concentration of the test substance, test solutions were renewed every 24-hour. Moreover, the surface of the test solution was covered with a Teflon sheet to prevent evaporation of the test solution and volatilization of the test substance. Renewal of the test solutions was performed by transferring the fish to freshly prepared test solution.
Test organisms (species):
Oryzias latipes

Additional information

A determination of the acute toxicity to fish of 2-(Allyloxymethyl) acrylic acid methyl ester was conducted (Mitsubishi Chemical Medience Corporation, 2014, Study A130915).
The study was performed in accordance with OECD test guideline 203, and in compliance with GLP.

Groups of 10 fish were exposed to 0 (control group), 1.0, 1.8, 3.2, 5.6, or 10 mg/L 2-(Allyloxymethyl) acrylic acid methyl ester. Test fish were observed at 3, 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours after the start of exposure.
Abnormal symptoms (abnormal swimming) was observed in Conc.2 to Conc.4, impossible to swim was observed in Conc.5, and dead fish were observed in Conc. 3 to 5.

It was concluded that the 96-hour EC50 in Fish was 2.56 mg/L and EC0 in Fish was 1.80 mg/L
