Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

4-(octadecylamino)-4-oxoisocrotonic acid (CAS 3077-27-8) is characterized by a water solubility of 5.9 mg/L, a low vapour pressure of ≤ 0.0013 Pa, a log Pow of 2.53 and a log Koc of 1.82. Hydrolysis is not considered to be a relevant degradation pathway of the substance since most amides hydrolyze to acids extremely slow at 25 °C and pH7 with half-lives measured in centuries with the exception of only a few halogenated acetamides (Hydrowin v2.00). Furthermore, biodegradation is expected to be low. 11% degradation was recorded in a standard biodegradation study according to OECD 301B. Thus, the substance is not readily biodegradable according to the OECD criteria. The substance can be expected to have a low potential for bioaccumulation since the log Pow was below the trigger value of 3. Based on all available data on environmental fate and physico-chemical properties the substance is not expected to evaporate into the atmospheric compartment or retain in the soil and sediment. Therefore under environmental conditions the substance is expected to mainly distribute into the water compartment.
