Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Aquatic toxicity studies with manganese neodecanoate are not available. In the assessment of manganese neodecanoate, read-across to the assessment entities soluble manganese substances and neodecanoic acid is applied since the ions of manganese neodecanoate determine its fate and toxicity in the environment. Reliable data indicate that the moiety of ecotoxicological concern are manganese cations though manganese is an essential trace nutrient. The lowest chronic effect concentration is the 4-months NOEC/EC10 of 0.6 mg Mn/L for Oncorhynchus mykiss. The 14-d NOEC of 2.22 mg/L neodecanoic acid for growth of Oncorrhynchus mykiss supported by the chronic Value (ChV) of 1.6 mg/L (QSAR-based estimate) for fish indicate a low potential for long-term toxicity of neodecanoate to fish.
