Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

The logarithm of the organic carbon normalized adsorption coefficient (log Koc) for MV 31 was determined according to OECD Guideline 121 (Estimation of the Adsorption Coefficient (Koc) on Soil and on Sewage Sludge using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)). The log Koc value for MV 31 is 3.7 (Koc = 5012).

The Henry’s Law constant (HLC) for MV 31 was determined based on the ratio of measured concentrations in the headspace phase and water phase. The Henry's Law constant (HLC) for MV 31 at 23 °C is 19300 (dimensionless), equivalent to 469 atm-m3/mol. A log Koa (octanol-air partition coefficient) of 0.81 can be calculated based on the HLC and a measured log Kow of 5.1.

MV 31 has a measured water solubility of 145 ug/L at 23 °C and a vapor pressure of 150 hPa at 20 °C. Upon evaluation of the HLC and the Koc values, the majority of MV 31 is expected to volatilize from soil or aqueous solution in an open systems, and only a very small amount of MV 31 is expected to dissolve and subsequently adsorb to suspended particles and soil. Direct deposition from air to soil is also expected to be of little importance.
