Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
surface tension
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because based on structure, surface activity is not expected or cannot be predicted
Justification for type of information:
Based on the molecular structure, 4,4-Dimethyloxazolidine exhibits only a small dipole moment and inter molecular hydrogen bonds are unlikely to form. Thus, the cohesion force of the molecule is weak. The adhesion force is dependent on the counter material, however, due to the low cohesion force 4,4-Dimethyloxazolidine is expected to have a low surface tension and is regarded as not surface active.
