Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
data from handbook or collection of data
Justification for type of information:
2-ethylhexanol and pentane-2,4-dione are two main hydrolysis prodcuts of the target substance. Properties of the the two substance are used for read-across.

Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Koc at 20 °C:
105

Additional information

Testing is scientifically unjustified as this substance is hydrolytically unstable (half-life less than 30 minutes). The hydrolysis products were identified to be 2-ethylhexanol and pentane-2,4-dione. The Koc value of more hydrophobic component, 2-ethylhexanol (judged from its octanol-water partition coefficient Kow), was used for CSA.
