Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The test item was investigated for its ready biodegradability in Carbon dioxide (CO2) evolution test (modified Sturm test) in compliance with the OECD 301B.

The relative biodegradation values calculated from the measurements performed during the test period revealed 68% and 70% biodegradation of test item, for A and B, respectively (based on ThCO2).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
readily biodegradable

Additional information

The ready biodegradability of test item was evaluated in an aerobic aqueous medium with microbial activity introduced by inoculation with activated sludge; Carbon dioxide (CO2) evolution test (modified Sturm test) in compliance with the OECD 301B.

The relative biodegradation values calculated from the measurements performed during the test period revealed 68% and 70% biodegradation of test item, for A and B, respectively (based on ThCO2).

Furthermore, average biodegradation of test item in bottle A and B reached 60% within a 10-day window.

In the toxicity control, test item was found not to inhibit microbial activity. Since all criteria for acceptability of the test were met, this study was considered to be valid.

In conclusion, test item was designated as readily biodegradable.
