Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The study to determine auto-ignition temperature does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid, non-flammable in air, e.g. no flash point up to 200 °C (Whereas the free naphthenic acids have flash point values in the range of ~149 °C, it can be reasonably assumed that bismuth trinaphthenate has a flashpoint >> 200 °C)

The substance is solely placed on the market dissolved in mineral oil and the auto-ignition temperature of the mineral oil is more decisive for the auto-ignition temperature of the product. By internal studies for flashpoint of the product in mineral oil, measured up to 155 °C no flammability could be determined.
