Temperature of the test substance exceeded oven temperature in 185 °C.

There were two sharp rises of temperature. Both of them reached the value 400 °C on the data records. First rise of temperature reached the value 400 °C when the temperature of the test substance was 327.6°C (for the first experiment) and 328.3 °C (for the second experiment). Average temperature after correction was 320.4 °C. Relative self-ignition temperature for the test substance is 320.4 °C.

Executive summary:

The autoflammability of the test substance has been investigated according to the EU Method A.16. The cube is filled with the substance to be tested and is tapped gently, adding more of the substance until the cube is completely full. The cube is then suspended in the center of the oven at room temperature. One thermocouple is placed at the center of the cube and the other between the cube and the oven wall to record the oven temperature. The temperatures of the oven and sample are continuously recorded while the temperature of the oven is increased to 400 °C, or to the melting point if lower, at a rate of 0.5 °C/min.
