Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

According to Annex VII of REACH Regulation (EC 1907/2006), the study does not need to be conducted if there are mitigating factors indicating that aquatic toxicity is unlikely to occur, for instance if the substance is highly insoluble in water.

Disperse Red 054 is poorly soluble, i.e. 94 µg/l at 20 °C, thus aquatic species are unlikely exposed to the substance and aquatic environment is considered as not target for the substance toxicity.

A similar behaviour is shown by Similar Substance 01. Details on the read-across are available in section 13.

Similar Substance 01 has a solubility in water of 10 µg/l; in the validation of the analytical method, the solubility in 20x AAP medium for lemna is found to be significantly lower than the limit of quantification of the analytical method, i.e. 5 µg/l. On these bases, the significance to run studies on aquatic toxicity at concentrations below the LOQ is found to be low; moreover, the aquatic compartment is not considered as target of Similar Substance 01 toxicity.
