Reliable short-term toxicity tests results are available for freshwater fish (Brachydanio rerio; new name Danio rerio), invertebrates (Daphnia magna) and algae (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata) for the registered substance. The relevant short-term values are:

Fish: LC50 (96 h): 16 mg/L; NOEC: <6.25 mg/L (nominal in terms of parent substance; the observations in the test are attributed to parent substance)

Daphnia: EC50 (48 h): 72.6 mg/L; NOEC: 43.6 mg/L (nominal in terms of parent substance; the observations in the test are attributed to parent substance)

Algae: ErC50 (72 h): >100 mg/L; ErC10: 92.9 mg/L (nominal in terms of parent substance); equivalent to >53 mg/L and 49 mg/L respectively (expressed in terms of concentration of the hydrolysis product, 1,1,1,4,4,4-hexahydroxy-1,4-silabutane) (the observations in this test are attributed to silanol hydrolysis product).

A NOEC of ≥8000 mg/L (nominal, highest concentration tested) was obtained for inhibition of cell multiplication in a P. putida cell multiplication inhibition test according to Guideline DIN 38412 and in compliance with GLP. The result is considered reliable.
