First-aid measures

- General advice:

In all cases of doubt, or when symptoms persist, seek medical attention. If possible show this sheet, if not available show packaging or label

- Following inhalation:

Move the affected person to the fresh air. In the event of exposure to high concentrations : Seek medical attention immediately

- Following skin contact:

Remove all contaminated clothing and footwear. Wash with plenty of soap and water. In case of redness or irritation, call a doctor

- Following eye contact:

Rinse immediately and thoroughly, pulling the eyelids well away from the eye (15 minutes minimum). Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Consult an eye

specialist immediately, even if there are no immediate symptoms

- Following ingestion:

Rinse mouth out with water. Do not induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Call a physician immediately. If possible show him this sheet. Failing this,

show him the packaging or label.

- Most important symptoms and effects:

May cause an allergic skin reaction

Causes serious eye damage.

May result in aspiration into the lungs, causing chemical pneumonia.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing media:

Powder. Carbon dioxide (CO2). Foam. Halogenated hydrocarbons

- Unsuitable extinguishing media:

Strong water jet

- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:

On heating or during combustion : Various hydrocarbon fragments, including carbon oxides (CO, CO2) may be released

- Advice for fire fighter:

Isolate fire area. Evacuate downwind. Contain the extinguishing fluids by bunding.

Do not attempt to take action without suitable protective equipment : Self-contained breathing apparatus & Complete protective clothing.

Accidental release measures

- Personal precautions:

Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid breathing vapours

- Protective equipment and emergency procedures:

Only qualified personnel equipped with suitable protective equipment may intervene :

- Protective gloves. The protective gloves to be used must comply with the specifications of EC directive 89/686/EEC and the resultant standard EN374

- Safety glasses (EN 166)

- Protective clothing

- If vapour is released : Put on breathing apparatus

Eliminate every possible source of ignition. Ventilate spillage area

- Environmental precautions:

Contain the spilled material by bunding (product is hazardous for the environment). Do not discharge into drains or rivers

- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:

Take up liquid spill into absorbent material, e.g.: sand, earth, vermiculite powdered limestone or sodium bicarbonate. Shovel into suitable and closed container for disposal.

Wash non-recoverable remainder with large amounts of water. Recover the cleaning water for later disposal.

Dispose of contaminated materials in accordance with current regulations

Handling and storage

- Precautions for safe handling:

Ensure good ventilation of the work station. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid breathing vapours.

Hygiene measures : Do not drink, eat or smoke in the workplace. Always wash your hands immediately after handling this product, and once again before leaving the workplace. If on skin, take off

contaminated clothing

- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:

Keep in a cool, well-ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed and dry. Protect from heat and direct sunlight. Keep away from ignition sources.
