Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Inhalation: If symptoms are experienced, move victim to fresh air and obtain medical advice.
Ingestion: Rinse mouth. Give plenty of water or milk. If irritation or discomfort occurs, obtain medical advice immediately.
Skin contact: Wash with water and soap or a mild detergent. If irritation persists, obtain medical advice.
Eye contact: Immediately flush with lukewarm, gently flowing water for 5 minutes or until the chemical is removed. If irritation persists, obtain medical advice immediately.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media:
Suitable extinguishing media: Water spray, foam, dry powder and CO2.
Unsuitable extinguishing media: None.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
Special hazard: None
Hazardous combustion products: CO and CO2.
Advice for firefighters: None
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
Environmental precautions: Do not release to sewer, surface water or ground water.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
Adsorb spillages onto sand, earth or any suitable adsorbent material. Transfer to a container for disposal. Wash the spillage area clean.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling:
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
Avoid inhalation of high concentrations of vapour/mist.
In case of contact, wash out the contaminated area immediately.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
Keep container tightly closed.
Keep in a cool and dry place.
Protect from sunlight.
Keep away from heat and flame.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Appropriate engineering controls:
Use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation or othe engineering controls to keep airborne concentration below exposure limits.
Individual protection measures, such as personal protective equipment:
Eye/face protection: Wear splash resistant goggles.
Skin protection: Wear appropriate chemical resistant clothing.
Respiratory protection: Use a NIOSH-approved respirator if airborne concentrations may exceed exposure limits.
Thermal hazards: Not available.
Stability and reactivity
Reactivity: None
Chemical stability: Stable
Possibility of hazardous reactions: None
Conditions to avoid: Avoid heat, flames, sparks and other sources of ignition.
Incompatible materials: Acids, bases, oxidizing materials and reducing agents.
Hazardous decomposition products: CO and CO2.
Disposal considerations
Dispose of in accordance with local regulations.
