The calculated Henrys Law Constant indicates that 3 -pentanone will evaporate slowly into the atmosphere the water surfaces. Furthermore binding to the solid soil phase (e.g. clay) is not expected due to the koc of 7.4. Environmental distribution was calculated using the Mackay Level 1 model. The standard environmental properties used for the calculation are drawn from a publication of Mackay, D. (2001). Due to the results of the Mackay LEVEL 1 calculation, over time the substance will preferentially distribute into the compartments air (75.65%) and water (24.31%).
