First-aid measures
General information: Immediately remove any clothing soiled by the product. After inhalation: Supply fresh air; consult doctor in case of complaints. After skin contact: Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly. After eye contact: Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. If symptomspersist, consult a doctor. After swallowing: Call for a doctor immediately. Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed: Slightly irritating to eyes, skin and respiratory tract.Eyes: Dust may irritate eyes mechanically.Slight temporary irritation.Hazards and systemic effects: General information for cyano-compounds: Highest alert!Hydrocyanic acid may be released!Possible routes of intake: Intake by swallowing or inhalation of dust.Chronic effects: Evidence of genotoxicity - substance should be treated with caution.Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed: Intoxication is determined by formation of hydrocyanic acid.Antidote: Hydroxycobalamine (vitamine B12, Cyanokit (R)).Artificial respiration with 100% oxygen.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media:Suitable extinguishing agents: CO2, powder or water spray. Fight larger fires with water spray or alcohol resistant foam. For safety reasons unsuitable extinguishing agents: Avoid high pressure extinguishing media which could cause the formation of a potentially explosible dust-air mixture.Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: In case of fire, the following can be released:Carbon monoxide (CO)Nitrogen oxides (NOx)Very high danger of dust explosions.Advice for firefighters:Protective equipment: Wear self-contained respiratory protective device.Chemical resistant protective suit.Under the protective suit a fire protective suit according to EN 469 should be applied.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:Wear protective clothing.Avoid contact with eyes and skin and clothesDo not breathe dust.Access only for trained personnel with personal protective equipment.Use respiratory protective device against the effects of fumes/dust/aerosol.Avoid formation of dust.Implementation of further measures based on existing emergency plans.Environmental precautions: Do not allow to enter sewers/ surface or ground water.Keep contaminated washing water and dispose of appropriately.Do not allow undiluted product or large quantities of it to reach ground water, water course or sewage system. Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Pick up mechanically. If formation of dust cannot be avoided use respiratory filter device.Possible formation of explosive dust/air mixtures.Dispose contaminated material as waste according to national legislation.Discharge into waste water channels and biological treatment plants onlyafter clearance with the operating company and in accordance with local Authority approval.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling: Empty containers must not be used for other products.Nitrogen blanketing required for large scale operations with this compound due to low minimum ignition energy.Contaminated protective equipment should be cleaned before taking it off.Any unavoidable deposit of dust must be completely removed.Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace.Fill only in dedicated and assigned containers.Keep containers tightly sealed.Information about fire - and explosion protection: Very high danger of dust explosions.Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles: Store in a dry location, keep away from humidity.Store in a cool location.Corrosion of metals: Test method according to CLP is not applicable (solid material at 55°C).It should generally be borne in mind that there is a possibility of corrosion on contact with this material. Resistance should be checked in each individual case.Information about storage in one common storage facility: Store away from oxidising agents.Recommended storage temperature: Currently no data available. It is therefore recommended not to exceed room temperature (max.25°C) during storage over a longer period of time.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Take care of sufficient ventilation. Avoid formation of dust.Waste gases should be led into the atmosphere only via appropriate separators, scrubbers or incinerators.Respiratory protection: Short term filter device: Particle filter. The filter grade (P1 - P3) has to be established depending on work-place related limit values and the actual exposition.Selection of the glove material on consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the degradation. The following materials are known from experience to be suitable forprotection against undissolved solids: rubber.Eye protection: Safety glassesBody protection: Muroroa-protective suitSelection of personal protective suits depending on amount and concentration of hazardous material and on possible exposition at the working place.General protective and hygienic measures have to be observed. Handling and use of this material/formulation only under controlled conditions in closed systems.Employees who use this material/formulation must be trained and demonstrably instructed about possible risks for man and environment.
Stability and reactivity
Thermal decomposition / conditions to be avoided: High risk of dust explosion!Sensitive to temperature: Protect from heat.Possibility of hazardous reactions: Very high danger of dust explosions.Conditions to avoid: Heating.Incompatible materials: Strong oxidizing agents.Hazardous decomposition products: Nitrogen oxides, Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.
Disposal considerations
Waste treatment methodsRecommendation:Must not be disposed together with household garbage. Do not allow product to reach sewage system.Must be specially treated adhering to official regulations. If possible recovery or recycling.Contaminated containers or containers with residual amounts must be treated as hazardous wastes.Storage in a safe place after emptying.Discharge into waste water channels and biological treatment plants only after clearence with the operating company and in accordance with localAuthority approval.
