Conclusions:
17-ethynyl-17-hydroxyestr-4-en-3-one is in the sense of the CLP-Guideline a non-flammable solid.
Executive summary:

17-ethynyl-17-hydroxyestr-4-en-3-one in its delivery state was measured. The test substance melted when approached by the ignition flame. The substance did not burn up. No further testing was required. 17-ethynyl-17-hydroxyestr-4-en-3-one is classified as a not readily combustible solid when tested according to UN-MTC Procedure N.1.

Endpoint:
substances / mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the organic substance does not contain metals or metalloids and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Endpoint:
pyrophoric solids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days) and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Endpoint:
self-heating substances / mixtures
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:

Description of key information

a.) Flammability: 17-ethynyl-17-hydroxyestr-4-en-3-one is no flammable solid according to UN-MTC Procedure N.1.

b.) Pyrophoric properties: 17-ethynyl-17-hydroxyestr-4-en-3-one did not deliver indications of pyrophoric properties during the realization of other tests. The determination according to UN-MTC Procedure N.2 is not necessary.

c.) Contact with water: A review of the structure suggests that there are no chemical groups present that would imply pyrophoric properties or flammability on contact with water. A review of handling and used implies no pyrophoric properties or flammability on contact with water. Testing according to UN Procedure N.5 is not necessary.

d.) Self-heating substances: Based on the thermal behavior according to EC A.16 (no safety-relevant exothermic reactions were detected) it is expected that 17-ethynyl-17-hydroxyestr-4-en-3-one is not a self-heating substance. 17-ethynyl-17-hydroxyestr-4-en-3-one can be classified as a not self-heating substance in the sense of CLP Annex 1, 2.11.
