Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Log Koc values of IOA were assessed according to the HPLC method specified by OECD TG121. Under the analytical conditions used, IOA resolved into five peaks, with four peaks contributing >1% of total peak area. Log Koc values for these peaks range from 2.81-3.59. The predominant component, contributing 93% of total peak area, had a log Koc of 3.18.

The study was conducted according to an internationally accepted test guideline and under GLP criteria. However, the suitability of the reference substances for this test is not well supported. The reference substances are approved for use in the method, but bear little or no structural similarity to IOA. Therefore, this study is classified as reliable with restrictions.

IOA was 93-95% degraded after 28 days in an OECD TG301D (Closed bottle) assay, with 100% primary degradation occurring between days 5 and 15. Therefore, IOA and its degradation products decompose rapidly as per the specific rules for adaptation from column 1. We propose waiving of further testing on adsorption/desorption properties in accordance with Annex IX, column 2, section 9.3.3.
