Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

Endpoint:
flammable liquids: obsolete as covered by section 'Flash point'
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Justification for type of information:
The REACH regulation (1972/2006) and guidance (R7a) do not specify an accepted method for the experimental deter-mination of the flammability of liquids, instead inferring it from other physico-chemical properties in accordance with the CLP regulation (1272/2008). The properties of interest are boiling point and flash point. The boiling point of the test sub-stance was measured as 203 °C (Harlan, 2015) and the flash point was determined to be 66 °C (Harlan, 2014).
Therefore, the test substance is not considered flammable.
Furthermore, experience of handling the test substance during experimental studies suggests that it does not react on contact with water, does not form unstable aqueous solutions and does not spontaneously ignite in contact with air. An evaluation of its structure also suggests that the test substance does not contain metals, transition metals, boron, silicon, or other elements or chemical groups that might lead to such reactions occurring
