Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

EYE CONTACT.   Bathe the eye with running water for at least 15 minutes, including beneath upper and lower eyelids.    Consult a doctor immediately.

SKIN CONTACT.  Remove all contaminated clothes and footwear immediately unless stuck to skin.   Drench the affected skin with running water for 10 minutes or longer if substance is still on skin. Consult a doctor. Transfer to hospital if there are burns or symptoms of poisoning.

INHALATION.   Remove casualty from exposure ensuring one's own safety whilst doing so. If conscious, ensure the casualty sits or lies down. If unconscious, check for breathing and apply artificial respiration if necessary. Consult a doctor. Transfer to hospital as soon as possible.

INGESTION.   Wash out mouth with water. Do not induce vomiting. If conscious, give half a litre of water to drink immediately. If unconscious, check for breathing and apply artificial respiration if necessary. If unconscious and breathing is OK, place in the recovery position. Transfer to hospital as soon as possible.

Fire-fighting measures

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA.    Suitable extinguishing media for the surrounding fire should be used. Water. Water spray. Carbon dioxide. Alcohol or polymer foam.

EXPOSURE HAZARDS   Corrosive. In combustion emits toxic fumes of carbon dioxide / carbon monoxide and organics.

ADVICE FOR FIRE-FIGHTERS.   Wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Wear protective clothing to prevent contact with skin and eyes.

Accidental release measures

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS.: Evacuate the area immediately. If outside do not approach from downwind. Mark out the contaminated area with signs andprevent access to unauthorised personnel. Do not attempt to take action without suitable protective clothing - see section 8 of SDS. Turn

leaking containers leak-side up to prevent the escape of liquid.

ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS.  : Do not discharge into drains or rivers. Contain the spillage using bunding.

CLEAN-UP PROCEDURES.   Clean-up should be dealt with only by qualified personnel familiar with the specific substance. Absorb into dry earth orsand. Transfer to a closable, labelled salvage container for disposal by an appropriate method. Refer to section 13 of SDS for suitable method of disposal.

Handling and storage

HANDLING REQUIREMENTS.  : Avoid direct contact with the substance. Ensure there is exhaust ventilation of the area.  Avoid the formation or spread of vapours and mists in the air.

STORAGE CONDITIONS.   Store in cool, well ventilated area. Keep container tightly closed. The floor of the storage room must be impermeable to prevent the escape of liquids.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering measures:     Ensure there is exhaust ventilation of the area. The floor of the storage room must be impermeable to prevent the escape of liquids. Ensure all engineering measures mentioned in the SDS are in place

Respiratory protection:      Respiratory protective device suitable for organic vapours.    Self-contained breathing apparatus must be available in case of emergency.

Hand protection:      Impermeable gloves. Nitrile gloves.

Eye protection:      Tightly fitting safety goggles. Face-shield. Ensure eye bath is to hand.

Skin protection:      Impermeable protective clothing.

Environmental:     Prevent from entering in public sewers or the immediate environment.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity:       Stable under recommended transport or storage conditions.

Chemical stability:     Stable under normal conditions.

Hazardous reactions: Hazardous reactions will not occur under normal transport or storage conditions.

Conditions to avoid: Heat. Direct sunlight.

Materials to avoid: Strong oxidising agents. Strong acids.

Haz. decomp. products: In combustion emits toxic fumes of carbon dioxide / carbon monoxide and organic fumes.

Disposal considerations

Disposal operations:     Transfer to a suitable container and arrange for collection by specialised disposal company.

Disposal of packaging:       Burn in a chemical incinerator equipped with afterburners and scrubbers.
