Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Sucroglyceride C16 -18 is readily biodegradable fulfilling the 10 d window criterion. Its rapid biotic degradation in water leads to negligibly low concentrations of Sucroglyceride C16 -18 in the aquatic environment and thus to insignificant concentrations in aquatic organisms.

In connection with readily biodegradability of the substance, it can be concluded that Sucroglyceride C16 -18 is supposed to be not biologically available in the aquatic compartment and it can be assumed that bioaccumulation in aquatic species is negligible.

In addition, in case of ester fission, Sucroglyceride C16 -18 consisting of sucrose, glycerol, propane-1,2-diol and fatty acids is likely to be rapidly metabolised in organisms.

Furthermore, the substance is not classified for aquatic toxicity, chronic toxicity, mutagenicity or carcinogenicity.

Based on these data, Sucroglyceride C16 -18 is not PBT/vPvB.
