Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information
Since no studies investigating the toxicity of Reaction mass of
octadecyl heptanoate and octadecyl octanoate (List No. 915-334-0) to
activated sludge microorganisms are available, in accordance to
Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 Annex XI, 1.5 a read-across to the
structurally related source substance Fatty acids, C8-10, C12-18-alkyl
esters (CAS 95912-86-0) was conducted. The read-across substance is
representative to evaluate the toxicity of the target substance to
activated sludge microorganisms.
The
target substance is a multi-constituent substance specified by mainly C7
and C8 linear fatty acids esterified with a linear alcohol of a chain
length of C18. The source substance Fatty acids, C8-10, C12-18-alkyl
esters (CAS 95912-86-0) is an UVCB substance predominantly consisting of
esters with a C8-C10 fatty acid and a C12-C14 alcohol moiety. A detailed
analogue approach justification is provided in the technical dossier
(see IUCLID Section 13). The source substance has a similar structure
and is suitable for read across to the target substance. In this case of
read-across, the best suited (highest degree of structural similarity,
nearest physico-chemical properties) read-across substance was used for
the assessment.
The study with the source substance fatty acids, C8-10, C12-18-alkyl
esters (CAS 95912-86-0) was performed according to OECD 209 (GLP)
investigating the toxicity to microorganisms (Hammer, 2013). Activated
sludge microorganisms (from a municipal wastewater treatment plant) were
exposed to the test substance up to a nominal concentration of 1000
mg/L. No effects were observed based on the respiration rate after 3 h
of incubation resulting in an EC10 (3 h) of > 1000 mg/L. An increase of
respiration was recorded in all treatments compared to the control
values.
Based on the available result from one structurally related read-across substance (in accordance to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 Annex XI, 1.5) which is characterized by a comparable structure, it can be concluded that Reaction mass of octadecyl heptanoate and octadecyl octanoate will not exhibit effects on activated sludge microorganisms.
