Additional information

The biodegradation of Acid Brown 282 (ABr282) was evaluated following the Zahn-Wellens/EMPA test procedures and an elimination of ABr282 higher than 20 %, but less than 70 % degradation was attained after 28 days of contact time. In the earliest days ABr282 reaches a percentage of degradation that remains similar for the following days, up to the 28th. Therefore, ABr282 can be termed as inherent, primary biodegradable and is expected to be persistent.

Based on Chemical Safety Report and reported risk management measures, direct and indirect exposure of sediment and soil to ABr282 is unlikely; no exposure of the aquatic compartment is foreseen and thus subsequent sediment and/or soil exposure can be neglected.
