Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Phototransformation in air

Estimated half-lives for the components of this UVCB substance range from 1.2 to 5.6 hours.

Hydrolysis

Ether bonds are stable and do not hydrolyse to a significant extent under environmentally relevant conditions. This has been confirmed in an OECD 111 study with Propylidinetrimethanol, ethoxylated (CAS# 50586-59-9). This substance was stable at pH 4, 7, 9 at 50 degrees Celsius during 120 hours (Bayer Material Science, AG, 2009).

Biodegradation

Not readily biodegradable and not inherently biodegradable under the conditions tested. However, the substance does not possess structural features or physical properties which would indicate it to persist indefinitely in the environment.

Bioaccumulation

With a log Kow ≤3, the substance can be considered to have a low potential for bioaccumulation.

Adsorption/desorption

In accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex IX, the study does not need to be conducted as the substance can be expected to have a low potential for sorption (log Kow ≤3). The estimated Koc values for homologous components of this UVCB substance range from 10 to 32 L/kg for the lowest (least sorptive) and highest (most sorptive) molecular weight homologues. The components of this UVCB substance can be regarded as having low affinity for adsorption to soils and activated sludge biosolids.
