Description of key information

Paragraph R7.1.6.1 contained within Chapter 7.A, Endpoint Specific Guidance, states that a study does not need to be performed if the test substance, based upon structure, is not expected or predicted to have surface activity or; or surface activity is not a desired property of the material.  For 2,6-di-tert-butyl phenol surface activity is not a desired property and is not predicted, as shown using the Q(S)AR ACD (30.1±3 mN/m).

Based upon the above reasons it is therefore considered unnecessary to perform a test for surface tension for 2,6-di-tert-butyl phenol.
