The short-term toxicity to fish was determined in a study conducted by the Ministry of the Environment in Japan based on OECD-GLP standard and OECD guidelines. The LC50 after 96 hours in the species Oryzias latipes was determined to be 59.5 mg/L.

The toxicity to aquatic algae (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata) was determined in a study based on an ISO guideline. The EC50 after 72 hours was determined to be 91 mg/L.

The short-term toxicity to Daphnia magna was determined in a study based on an ISO guideline. The EC50 after 48 hours was determined to be 11.2 mg/L.

Determination of effects in a long term toxicity study to aquatic invertebrates (OECD 211) leads to the following values:

EC 50 Reproduction (21 days): 5.32 mg/L

No Observed Effect Concentration on Reproduction (NOEC) : 0.20 mg/L

Lowest Observed Effect Concentration on Reproduction (LOEC) : 0. 81 mg/L

EC50 (mortality) for parental daphnia (21days): 0.89 mg/L

In a first zebrafish sexual development test according to OECD guideline 234 the lowest calulated NOEC was 0.11 mg/L (mean measured concentration) based on the parameter total survival.

Since this test was not valid a second test was carried out according to OECD guideline 234. The lowest calulated NOEC was 24 µg/L (mean measured concentration) based on the parameter total survival.
