Description of key information

Short-term toxicity to fish:

Short-term toxicity to fish was observed in accordance withOECD Guideline 203 (Fish, Acute Toxicity Test) on fish Danio rerio (previous name: Brachydanio rerio). The LC50 for 96 h was observed to be greater then 1000 mg/l.

(The solubility of test substance is 0.005 mg/l the substance is highly insoluble in water . In accordance to Annex VII column 2  the study need not to be conducted as aquatic toxicity is unlikely to occur).

Long-term toxicity to fish:

Based on the prediction done using ECOSAR version 1.1, the long term toxicity on fish was predicted for test substance . On the basis of effects observed in a static fresh water system, the NOEC value for the substance is estimated to be1.04e-011mg/l for fish for 28 days of exposure duration.Based on the NOEC value it can be concluded that the test chemical is toxic to fish at environmentally relevant concentrations and can be considered aquatic cronic 1 as per the CLP classification criteria.

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates :

short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates was evaluated on aquatic invertebrate Daphnia magna the EC50 for 48 h effect concentration was observed to be >500 mg/l.

(The solubility of test substance is 0.005 mg/l the substance is highly insoluble in water . In accordance to Annex VII column 2  the study need not to be conducted as aquatic toxicity is unlikely to occur)

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria:

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria was evaluated in accordance to 87/302/EEC p 89 (growth inhibition test) on aquatic algae Desmodesmus subspicatus (previous name: Scenedesmus subspicatus) for 72 h . The EC50 concentration was observed to be >80 mg/l .

(The solubility of test substance is 0.005 mg/l the substance is highly insoluble in water . In accordance to Annex VII column 2  the study need not to be conducted as aquatic toxicity is unlikely to occur)

Long-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates:

Based on the prediction done using ECOSAR version 1.1, the long term toxicity on aquatic invertebrate was predicted for test substance . On the basis of effects observed in a freshwater system, the NOEC value for the test substance is estimated to be2.19e-010mg/l for aquatic invertebrate for 21 days of exposure, Based on the NOEC value it can be concluded that the test chemical can be considered as toxic to aquatic invertebrate at environmentally relevant concentrations and can be considered aquatic chronic 1 as per the CLP classification criteria.

Toxicity to microorganisms:

Toxicity to microorganisms was evaluated based on Pseudomonas sps. for 16 h . The IC50 was observed to be > 10 000 mg/L.

(The solubility of test substance is 0.005 mg/l the substance is highly insoluble in water . In accordance to Annex VII column 2  the study need not to be conducted as aquatic toxicity is unlikely to occur)
