No standard carcinogenicity studies are available for Heptane. However, with regard to the molecular structure of the substance, no carcinogenic potential is expected. Moreover, in investigations on substance specific and read across mutagenicity studies (in vitro and in vivo) as well as in substance specific and read across repeated dose toxicity studies (via inhalation), neither genotoxicity nor an indication for neoplastic lesions was observed.
