Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
other: literature review
Adequacy of study:
weight of evidence
Study period:
2013
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: CAE is an UVCB of fatty acids and glycerides essentially. The water solubility of CAE has not been determined experimentally. A literature review was performed for each component.
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Literature review
Water solubility:
< 2 mg/L
Remarks on result:
other: see literature review
Details on results:
A literature review was performed for each component (please refer to attached file). No experimental data is available for two alkyl triols; however, their content is very low (1.8% w/w total). According to the estimated water solubility of all the other components (between 6.65*10-10 mg/L and 21.2 mg/L), the water solubility of CAE is expected to be very low (< 2 mg/L, probably < 1 mg/L).
Conclusions:
Interpretation of results (migrated information): other: < 2 mg/L

Description of key information

A literature review was performed for each component . No experimental data is available for two alkyl triols; however, their content is very low (1.8% w/w total). According to the estimated water solubility of all the other components (between 6.65*10-10 mg/L and 21.2 mg/L), the water solubility of CAE is expected to be very low (< 2 mg/L and probably < 1 mg/L). The value of 1 mg/L is used in the risk assessment.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
1 mg/L
at the temperature of:
25 °C
