Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In the only available (and reliable) study, no effects on algae were observed for nominal concentrations up to 100 mg/l.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
100 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
100 mg/L

Additional information

The toxicity of the test substance to the algae Desmodesmus subspicatus was investigated in a study according to OECD Test Guideline 201 under GLP.

As the substance is pratically not water soluble, it was prepared by adding 6.25, 12.5, 25, 50 and 100 mg into 1000 mL culture medium, stirring for 24h and filtering. As a result, test substance preprations were clear solutions. After 72h under static conditions, no effects (yield and biomass) were present. Therefore, the EC50 of the test substance to algae was > 100 mg/l (nominal).
