Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Transport and distribution of HAT-ISO in aquatic and soil compartments is highly unlikely, as environmental exposure is practically negligible:

1) HAT-ISO is manufactured and formulated in closed systems. Thus, direct and indirect exposure of the aquatic or soil compartments during manufacturing and formulation is practically negligible.

2) Use of formulated HAT-ISO is also unlikely to result in direct and indirect exposure to the aquatic or soil compartments. During use HAT-ISO is included in three-dimensional matrices of polymeric, resinous material and completely retained. Therefore, the direct and indirect release of HAT-ISO into the aquatic or soil compartments is practically negligible.

Exposure of HAT-ISO to the atmospheric compartment is practically negligible. The vapour pressure of HAT-ISO was measured with a static method according to EU-Method A.4, Vapour pressure. The vapour pressure of HAT-ISO determined by this method was below 1.6E-04 Pa at 20 °C (293.15 K). Thus, exposure of HAT-ISO to the atmospheric environment is practically negligible.

For more details on exposure assessment see the risk assessment report included in section 13.

Further, HAT-ISO is highly insoluble in water. The solubility was determined at 0.0497 mg/L at 20 °C. Thus, availability of HAT-ISO in the aquatic environment is practically negligible.

Even though exposure to all environmental compartments is practically negligible, the adsorption potential of HAT-ISO was estimated using the US EPA Epiwin (v.3.12) software. The soil adsorption coefficient was calculated at

Koc = 1.78E+05 and

Log Koc: 5.251

In summary, direct and indirect exposure of environmental compartments is highly unlikely and thus, transport and distribution in the environment is practically negligible.
