Executive summary:

A study was performed to assess the acute toxicity of 4-Phenyl-3-Morpholinon to daphnia magna under static conditions. The study was conducted in accordance with the OECD Guideline for Testing of Chemicals No. 202 ´Daphnia sp., Acute Immobilization Test´ (adopted April 13, 2004).

The Daphnia were exposed in two replicates to a limit test concentration of 4-Phenyl-3-Morpholinon (100 mg/L) dissolved in water over 48 hours. Auxiliary used to prepare the test media was an ultrasonic bath.

Observations were made on the swimming ability and the immobilization rate, respectively, after 24 and 48h of exposure. No toxic effects against daphnia at a nominal limit test concentration of 100 mg/L could be observed. Recovery rates correspond to 100.4% of nominal values at 0h and 99.6% at 48h, respectively.
