First-aid measures
Description of first aid measures
If inhaled : Remove to fresh air. Obtain medical attention.
In case of skin contact : Immediately remove contaminated clothing. Rinse affected skin with copious amounts of water, using a mild cleaning agent. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
In case of eye contact : Immediately flush eyes with water and continue washing for at least 15 minutes. Obtain medical attention.
If swallowed : Do NOT induce vomiting. Give small amounts of water to drink. Obtain medical attention.
Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
Symptoms : corrosive effects
Treatment : For specialist advice physicians should contact the Poisons Information Service.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media : Water, Dry powder, BC powder, Foam, Carbon dioxide (CO2)
Specific hazards during fire fighting : Burning produces noxious and toxic fumes.
Advice for firefighters
Special protective equipment For fire-fighters: Wear a positive-pressure supplied-air respirator with full facepiece.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions : Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Provide sufficient ventilation.
Environmental precautions : Prevent from entering sewer system, surface water or soil.
Methods for cleaning up :
Large quantities: Dike spilled product with liquid absorbing material and pump off.
Small quantities: Soak up with liquid absorbing material (sand etc.) and dispose of as instructed.
Handling and storage
Advice on safe handling : Use only with adequate ventilation. Keep container tightly closed. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Keep away from fire, sparks and heated surfaces.
Requirements for storage areas and containers: Keep containers tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place. Keep away from fire, sparks and heated surfaces.
Specific use(s) : Raw material for industry only

Exposure controls / personal protection
Control parameters: Contains no substances with occupational exposure limit values.
Exposure controls
Engineering measures: Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location. Highly effective exhaust ventilation.
Personal protective equipment
Respiratory protection : In the case of vapour formation use a respirator with an approved filter.
Hand protection : Polyvinyl alcohol or nitrile- butyl-rubber gloves The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the standard EN 374 derived from it. Before removing gloves clean them with soap and water.
Eye protection : Eye wash bottle with pure water. Tightly fitting safety goggles. Wear face-shield and protective suit for abnormal processing problems.
Skin and body protection : impervious clothing. Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work place.
Hygiene measures : Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
Environmental exposure controls
General advice : Prevent from entering sewer system, surface water or soil.
Stability and reactivity
Reactivity: No dangerous reaction known under conditions of normal use.
Chemical stability: Stable under normal conditions.
Possibility of hazardous reactions: Reacts with moisture.
Conditions to avoid : Extremes of temperature and direct sunlight. Exposure to moisture.
Incompatible materials: Acids, Bases, Oxidizing agents
Hazardous decomposition products : Carbon oxides, silicon oxide fumes.
Disposal considerations
Dispose of as hazardous waste in compliance with local and
national regulations.
Dispose of wastes in an approved waste disposal facility.
