Description of key information

The oxidising properties were predicted using Method A17 Oxidising Properties (Solids) of CommissionRegulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008.

The test item is a multi component substance consisting of the following: di-isobutyl succinate, di-isobutyl glutarate and di-isobutyl adipate

The structures have been assessed for chemical groups that would imply oxidising properties. Examples of such groups are nitrates, metal oxides, hypofluorites, difluoroaminopolynitroaryls, perchlorates, bromates and iodites.  Full structural details are given in Bretherick’s Handbook of Reactive Chemical Hazards, 4th Edition, Butterworths, 1990.

There are no chemical groups present in the structures that would imply oxidising properties. Based on the chemical structures for the components of the test item the result for the oxidising properties has been predicted negative.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the chemical structures for the components of the test item the result for the oxidising properties has been predicted negative.
