Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
02 July - 21 July, 2009
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: The study has been performed according to OECD and/or EC guidelines, and according to GLP principles.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
column elution method
Key result
Water solubility:
< 0.002 mg/L
Temp.:
20.2 °C
pH:
ca. 7.2
Details on results:
At both flow rates no test substance was detected. Also, no test substance was detected in the samples from the blank column. After the test, the column was opened and the packing was analysed for test substance content and it was confirmed that test substance was still present on the column packing .Therefore, it can be concluded that the water solubility of HXL-8366 is < 1.89 x 10-6 g/l (i.e. < LOD).
Conclusions:
Interpretation of results (migrated information): insoluble (< 0.1 mg/L)
The column elution method was chosen for the determination of the water solubility of HXL-8366. The water solubility of the test substance at 20.2 +/- 0.6°C was <1.89 x 10-6 g/l (i.e. < LOD). The mean pH of the aqueous samples was 7.2.

Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
0 g/L
at the temperature of:
20 °C
