Description of key information

The hydrolysis of sodium diethyldithiocarbamate is fast, a half-life of 20 h at a pH of 7 and 25 ºC is used in the assessment.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Half-life for hydrolysis:
20 h
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

One hydrolysis study is available for sodium diethyldithiocarbamate. A non-GLP, OECD 111 guideline study is available (van Leeuwen et al., 1985a; van Leeuwen, 1986).The half-lives are measured in relation to the pH at 25 ºC. The DT50 values are determined to be 0.02 h at pH 4, 0.67 h at pH 6, 20 h at pH 7, 200 h at pH 8 and 46.5 d at pH 9. The DT50 value of 20 h at pH 7 will be used in the assessment.
