Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The algal growth inhibition to Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata, was carried out according to OECD 201 Freshwater Alga and Cyanobacteria, Growth Inhibition Test and EU Method C.3 guidelines. The aim of the study was to assess the effects on growth rate and yield over a period of 72 hours. The study was conducted under static conditions with an initial cell density of 6153 cells/mL. Five Water accommodated fractions (WAF) were tested in a geometrical series with a dilution factor of 1.33 (nominal): 2.4, 3.2, 4.2, 5.6, 7.5 mg/L. Three replicates were tested for each test item concentration and six replicates for the control. The environmental conditions were within the acceptable limits. The concentrations of the test item were analytically verified via GC-MS at the start of the exposure and after 24, 48 and 72 hours, respectively, in all test levels and the control. These analytical data were used as supporting information to monitor the stability of the three constituents of the test item in the test system during the study. The measured concentrations of the test item were in the range of 48 to 84 % of the 0 hour measured concentrations after 72 hours. All effect values given are based on nominal test item concentrations of the test item. Per definition of the WAF, all terms related to concentration levels have to be given as loading levels because partly dissolved compounds and mixtures cannot be related to concentrations. The validity criteria of the test guideline were fulfilled. The EL50 for growth rate reduction (72h-ErL50) based on nominal loading in a WAF was > 7.50 mg/L. The corresponding NOELR was 4.20 mg/L..
