In the water solubility study of the substance, a micro-emulsion or suspension of the substance is formed showing some turbidity. A turbidimeter was employed to semi-quantify the point at which a test substance might no longer be deemed to be truly in solution. An arbitrary figure of 10 NTU’s (Nephelometric Turbidity Units) was selected as a figure above which the solution is deemed to be visible cloudy and the test substance is no longer fully disolved. Turbidity and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) were measured in test solutions.

Conclusions:
Interpretation of results (migrated information): moderately soluble (100-1000 mg/L)
Water solubility of the test material determined at 20.0 ± 0.5 ºC was 0.104 ± 0.034 g/L.
Executive summary:

Water solubility of the test material has been determinated according to the EC A.6 test Guideline. No signs of degradation have been observed in the measurements carried out in the pH of the solution (in a range of 4.01 - 4.27) at 24, 48 and 72 hours. Water solubility of the test material determined at 20.0 ± 0.5 ºC was 0.104 ± 0.034 g/L.

Description of key information

Key study: EC Guideline A.6. No GLP study. Water solubility was 0.104 ± 0.034 g/L at 20.0 ± 0.5ºC.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
0.104 g/L
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

Key study: Experimental result on test item Reaction products of n-octanol and acrylic acid, first distillation pitch:

Water Solubility of the test substance was carried out according to the EC A.6. Guideline (without GLP) and was determinated to be 0.104 ± 0.034 g/L at 20.0 ± 0.5 ºC.
