The main toxic property of reaction mass of CDFA and TFA is its strong corrosivity as it is classified corrosive to the skin into category 1A according to the Regulation (EC) 1272/2008.
We have little data on this substance systemic toxicity however we consider that the local effects induced by its high corrosivity on the skin and the respiratory tract will occurred at levels where no adverse systemic effects are expected and thus the protection from reaction mass of CDFA and TFA corrosive effects will ensure protection from potential adverse systemic effects. Moreover, this conclusion is supported by the acute oral toxicity study on CDFA where even by the oral route the corrosivity is the main observed effect, the acute dermal toxicity study on CDFA which had to be stopped because of strong corrosivity presence and the acute inhalation study on TFA where local effects on the upper respiratory system are the only observed effects. As it is highly corrosive, prevention from reaction mass of CDFA and TFA local effects will be performed by a qualitative risk assessment.

Additional information - General Population
As there is no consumer use there is no general population direct exposition to reaction mass of CDFA and TFA and thus no risk assessment is to be performed.
