Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Since no studies investigating the ready biodegradability of alcohols, C16-18, ethoxylated, phosphates (CAS 106233-09-4) are available for this endpoint, in accordance to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 Annex XI, 1.5 a read-across to the structurally related source substance alcohol ethoxylate (C16-18, < 2.5 EO, CAS 68439-49-6) is conducted. This read-across is justified in detail in the overall summary (IUCLID chapter 5) and within the analogue justification in IUCLID Section 13.

The biodegradation of Alcohol ethoxylate (C16-18, < 2.5 EO, CAS 68439-49-6) was investigated in a non-GLP study according to OECD 301B (Häner, 2005). Domestic activated sludge was used as inoculum. The substance attained 94 % degradation after 28 days of contact time and the 10-day window was met. Hence, alcohol ethoxylate (C16-18, < 2.5 EO, CAS 68439-49-6) and alcohols, C16-18, ethoxylated, phosphates (CAS 106233-09-4) can be classified as readily biodegradable under the strict OECD requirements.
