Additional information

According to Annex VIII of Regulation EC/1907/2006 (the REACH regulation), eye irritation studies do not generally need to be conducted if the substance is classified as corrosive to the skin. For N-butylpyridinium heptachlorodialurninate an in vitro skin corrosion test was performed. The substance was considered to be CORROSIVE and assigned the US DOT Packing Group Criteria II. This result suggests to waive further eye irritation studies which would also be in agreement with animal welfare.

Justification for selection of skin irritation / corrosion endpoint:
This study was performed according to GLP and the methods applied are fully compliant with OECD TG 435.

Justification for selection of eye irritation endpoint:
The test material is corrosive to skin. This result suggests to waive further eye irritation studies which would also be in agreement with animal welfare.
