Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

EQUIPMENT
- Apparatus: Acquity UPLC system (Waters, Milford, MA, USA)
- Type, material and dimension of analytical (guard) column: Acquity UPLC HSS Cyano, 100 mm x 2.1 mm i.d., dp = 1.8 µm (Waters)
- Detection system: Acquity UPLC TUV detector (Waters)

MOBILE PHASES
- Type: 55/45 (v/v) methanol/water

DETERMINATION OF DEAD TIME
- Method: by inert substances which are not retained by the column (Formamide)

REFERENCE SUBSTANCES
- Identity:
Acetanilide (CAS 103-84-4)
Monuron (CAS 150-68-5)
2,5-Dichloroaniline (CAS 95-82-9)
Naphthalene (CAS 91-20-3)
Benzoic acid phenylester (CAS 93-99-2)
Fenthion (CAS 55-38-9)
Phenanthrene (CAS 85-01-8)
4,4'-DDT (CAS 50-29-3)

DETERMINATION OF RETENTION TIMES
- Quantity of test substance introduced in the column: injection volume: 5 µL, conc. 91.3 mg/L
- Quantity of reference substances: conc. 1 g/L

REPETITIONS
- Number of determinations: The reference substance and the test substance solutions were injected in duplicate. Blank solutions were analysed by single injection.

EVALUATION
- Calculation of capacity factors k': (tr-t0)/t0; where tr = retention time, t0 = mean column dead time
- Determination of the log Koc value: regression line of calibration curve: log k' = 0.341 x log Koc - 0.780
Type:
log Koc
Value:
5.2
Temp.:
35 °C
Type:
Koc
Value:
160 000
Temp.:
35 °C

Description of key information

Koc = 160000 (log Koc = 5.2) (OECD 121, HPLC)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Koc at 20 °C:
160 000

Additional information

The adsorption potential of 3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7,8,8,8-tridecafluorooctyl 2-chloropropenoic acid ester (CAS 96383-55-0) was determined by the HPLC method according to OECD guideline 121 and GLP (Brekelmans, 2013). Based on the calibration curve with eight reference substances a log Koc value of 5.2 was derived. Thus it can be expected that the substance can adsorb under environmental conditions to sediment and soil particles.
