Description of key information

According to REACH Annex VII column 2, boiling point does not need to be tested since the test substance decomposes before boiling.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In its crystalline form chromium trinitrate exists as nonahydrate (Cr(NO3)3 * 9H2O) which decomposes at 138.9 to 142.9 °C when trying to establish the boiling point of the substance due to loss of crystal water . Thus, determination of a boiling point is not possible and is waived accordingly.
