Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Additional information
EC 424-820-7 is a UVCB substance consisting of 11 constituents, and these constituents tend to behave in use as one substance rather than separate materials and the toxicity has been assessed on this basis (i.e. as one stable material). It is not known if the constituents can become available in organisms to exert independent activity. If this is the case then some of the constituents meet the screening criteria for bioaccumulation based on predicted LogKow values.
The Log Kow values of each constituent of EC 424-820-7 were predicted using KOWWIN (v1.68). Log Kow values ranging from -1.24 to 8.10 were estimated. Of the 11 constituents, 8 have Log Kow values under the screening criteria of 4.5, therefore they are not considered further. 3 of the constituents have predicted LogKow values greater than 4.5, these therefore meet the screening criteria for Bioaccumulation.
However, it is not possible to predict how the constituents would behave in vivo situations and the screening criteria assessment is not a reliable one for this sort of situation. No definitive conclusion can be reached at this time for the whole material.
No bioaccumulation testing is proposed for EC 424-820-7, as the REACH Annex VIII does not require this, and it is considered scientifically unjustified to perform further vertebrate testing in support of the PBT assessment. Persistence testing on EC 424-820-7 has demonstrated the substance to be not P and not vP and therefore not PBT and not vP/vB. In accordance with the REACH Annex XIII, section 2.1 and in accordance with the principles of REACH Annex XI, Section 1.2, bioaccumulation testing is deemed scientifically unjustified as EC 424-820-7 has been demonstrated to not possess P properties. Therefore, bioaccumulation testing is waived to avoid unnecessary vertebrate testing.
