Description of key information

The 28-d EC50 for emergence rate, development time and development rate was higher tan 459 mg/kg dw (initial measured)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The toxicity of the test item was tested on the larvae of Chironomus riparius according to the draft OECD guideline 219. Larvae were exposed to a blank control, a solvent control and nominal concentrations of 58, 115, 230, 460 and 920 mg/kg dw for 28 days. Analytical confirmation of actual exposure was verified for the two highest concnetrations. As the procedural recoveries were in a range of 60 -90% the actual measured concentration of day 0 of 128 and 459 mg/kg dw were used. The test item caused no reduction of emergence rate, development time and development rate at any concentration tested. Therefore, the overall NOEC was 459 mg/kg dw and the EC50 was estimated to be higher than 459 mg/kg dw.
