Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
Additional information
Short-term toxicity to fish
Two key studies and three supporting studies showed that the nominal LC50value is clearly above 100 mg ai /L. In one key study a NOEC of 100 mg ai /L is reported, in the second key study a NOEC of 1500 mg/L is reported. This is supported by the results of the two supporting studies. In these studies NOEC values of 500 and 1000 mg/L was shown.
All these values are above the measured water solubility. Due to the testing substance is a surfactant, the critical micelle concentration (CMC) was chosen for the determination of the water solubility. CMC which is taken as solubility limit is 53.3 +/- 3 mg/L at 20°C.
NOEC is above the water solubility.
Long-term toxicity to fish
Waiving according to "column 2" in Annex IX of REGULATION (EC) No 1907/2006 (CSA does not indicate need for further investigations).
Short term toxicity to daphnia
The 48-Hour EC50 for the test item to Daphnia magna based on nominal concentration was 1340 mg/L. The nominal NOEC of the test item is 100 mg/L. EC50 values are above the water solubility. Due to the testing substance is a surfactant, the critical micelle concentration (CMC) was chosen for the determination of the water solubility. CMC which is taken as solubility limit is 53.3 +/- 3 mg/L at 20°C.
Long-term toxicity to daphnia
Waiving according to "column 2" in Annex IX of REGULATION (EC) No 1907/2006 (CSA does not indicate need for further investigations).
Toxicity to aquatic algae
In this study the test item was found to inhibit the growth of the freshwater green alga Desmodesmus subspicatus after 72 hours with the following effect values (nominal test item concentrations) The NOEC-values for inhibition of growth rate and yield after 72 hours were 6.67 mg/L and 2.98 mg/L, respectively. The LOEC-values for inhibition of growth rate and yield after 72 hours were 14.5 mg/L and 6.67 mg/L, respectively. The EC50-values for inhibition of specific growth rate (ErC50) and yield (EyC50) with 95 % confidence intervals after 72 hours were > 14.5 mg/L and 12.1 (9.04 – 14.2) mg/L, respectively.
All effect levels are given based on geometric mean measured concentrations of the test item.
These results showed that the toxicity to aquatic algae is above the water solubility.
Toxicity to microorganisms
Two studies were performed to assess the effect of the test item on the respiration of activated sewage sludge. The effect of the test item on the respiration of activated sewage sludge gave a 3-Hour EC50of >1000 mg/l (nominal) in both studies. No effects observed at < 1000 mg/L nominal
All these values are above the measured water solubility. Due to the testing substance is a surfactant, the critical micelle concentration (CMC) was chosen for the determination of the water solubility. CMC which is taken as solubility limit is 53.3 +/- 3 mg/L at 20°C.
