Description of key information

The results from Garcia Monego (2006) was selected as the key value for the assessment of the adsorption/desorption of 2,4,6-tribromophenol. The study was selected as it is a GLP study, conducted to current accepted guidelines and comprehensively reported.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Koc at 20 °C:
2 253

Additional information

Reference: Garcia Monego, J. (2006)

Reliability: 1

Value: Adsorption results from Freundlich isotherms mean Koc mg/L (from all three soil types): 2253

Desorption results from Freundlich isotherms mean Koc mg/L (from all three soil types): 4119

The mean Koc and Kom were determined to be 2253 ml/g and 1307 ml/g respectively. The compound was hence considered to be very strongly adsorbed onto soil particles.  According to the PJ McCall classification, the test substance can be considered low mobile in Argissolo soil and slightly mobile in Latossolo and Neossolo soils.
