Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
seek medical advice.
Emergency measure - Eyes: - Rinse with plenty of water. If irritation occurs, seek
medical advice.
Emergency measure - Skin: - Wash with soap and water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: - Symptomatic treatment. In case of indisposition, seek
medical advice.
Fire-fighting measures
Product arising from burning: - Combustion products may contain carbon, nitrogen and sul-
fur oxides and iron compounds.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: - Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus.
Accidental release measures
impermeable gloves).
Solids : Sweep up (wet powders with water) and place in
suitable containers for disposal.
Aqueous solutions: Absorb using a suitable absorbent
(sand, silica gel, kieselguhr, saw dust),
collect and place in suitable containers for disposal.
Dispose of waste material at a controlled landfill site or
authorised incineration facility.
Handling and storage
the substance is handled as a powder, avoid inhalation of
dust and wear dust mask. Use equipment for handling pow-
ders or other appropriate engineering controls.
Avoid skin contact and wear impermeable gloves.
Storage: - The substance should be stored in well sealed and secure
containers in adequate rooms.
Avoid dust residue outside the containers.

Special provisions / remarks
- Remarks:
- Transport: - Transport in well sealed suitable containers (eg. poly-
ethylene sacks in steel drums). Avoid unintentional
spilling of substance by taking adequate precautions.
Label containers in accordance with appropriate regula-
tions.

Stability and reactivity
Chemical reaction with water: - None.
Disposal considerations
98 % by irreversible binding to leather.
Recovery for recycling of the remaining highly water so-
luble substance is not reasonably practical.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: - Not applicable.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not suitable for deposit in landfill site.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: - Discharge by incineration at high temperatures (>800°C)
in a suitable facility with the equipment necessary to
remove oxides of sulfur and nitrogen as well as haloge-
nated compounds.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: - It is estimated that 2 % of the total quantity used is
discharged into internal industrial effluents as highly
diluted solution. A purification of the waste water in a
waste water treatment plant (WTP) is recommended. This
substance should be used in a well equipped dye house.
It is very likely that the remaining 2% are adsorbed by
the sludge during the waste water treatment, and any fur-
ther purification would then not be necessary.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: - Not applicable.
