Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove the person from exposure to the product. If not
breathing give artificial respiration and call a physician.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Eye irritation may occur. Immediately flush the eyes with
plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Call a physician.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash the skin thoroughly with soap and water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: If swallowed do not induce vomiting. Get prompt medical
attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: alcohol foam, dry chemical
Product arising from burning: The exact nature of the combustion gases is not known. They
would include carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide.
Protective equipment: Fire fighters should use protective equipment including self
contined breathing apparatus. Workers contacting the
product should wear safety glasses and impermeable gloves.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Use appropriate protective equipment when working with
spills. All spills should be contained to prevent
contamination of surrounding areas. Soak up the spill with
sawdust, sand or other absorbent material. Flush the area
with water.
Handling and storage
Handling: When handling this product it is recommended that personal
protection equipment be used including safety glasses and
impermeable gloves.
Avoid breathing the vapors or mist. The use of mechanical
ventilation is recommended whenever this product is used in
a confined space or heated above ambient temperature.
Storage: This product should be stored in a closed container at
ambient temperature. The storage area should be well
ventilated and away from moisture.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: This product is packaged in 5-gallon HDPE pails, 55-gallon
lined steel drums and in stainless steel tank trucks.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Personal Protective Equipment: Chemical goggles; face shields if necessary. Work uniforms or impervious clothing and boots. Neoprene, nitrile or PVC-coated gloves. Where overexposures are a concern, use NIOSH-approved chemical cartridge respirator or supplied-air breathing equipment as necessary.
Respirator Caution: Observe OSHA regulations for respirator use (29 CFR 1910.134). Air-purifying respirators must not be used in oxygen-deficient atmospheres.
Ventilation: All operations should be conducted in well-ventilated conditions. Local exhaust ventilation should be provided.
Other Engineering Controls: All appropriate engineering controls should be used to minimize exposure potential. Use exhaust ventilation to keep airborne concentrations below exposure limits.
Thermal Hazards: Not applicable.
Additive or Synergistic Effects: None known.
Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire: None known
Chemical reaction with water: This product does not react with water.
Dust explosion: Product is an oily liquid.
Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: No possibility that the used agent will be recovered.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Agent has no potentially hazardous effect. The agent is
essentially harmless toxicologically and environmentally.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Agent could be discharged in a controlled manner but the
necessity for this kind of destruction is quite remote.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The agent could be incinerated but the necessity for this
kind of destruction is quite remote.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: not applicable
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The agent will be completely limited to an industrial use as
a plasticizer in extruded medical grade plastics. The
public will not have any contact with the agent.
Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: not applicable
Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: not applicable
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: not applicable
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: not applicable
Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: not applicable
